Ari Alpert’in Sanat Sepet adlı işi, sanat dünyasının değer ekonomisine yönelik doğrudan bir eleştiri sunar. Hasır bir sepetin içindeki sahte paralar, ortasından yükselen katı bir orta parmakla kesintiye uğrar. Jest basit ama nettir: Sanatta değeri gerçekten ne belirler?

Sepet; toplama, sunma, hatta sadaka fikrini çağrıştırırken sahte para, bu değerin ne kadar kırılgan ve kurgusal olduğunu açığa çıkarır. Orta parmak ise bu dolaşıma katılmayı reddeder. Hakaret kişisel değil, yapısaldır.

Stüdyo’dan çıkarken apar topar bir araya getirilmişken, birinin gelip “Peki bunun fiyatı ne?” diye sorması, eserin eleştirdiği sistemi ironik biçimde anında doğrular. Sanat Sepet!

Sanat Sepet is a direct critique of the art world’s value economy. A woven basket filled with fake money is interrupted by a rigid middle finger. The gesture is simple and unmistakable: what actually defines value in art?
The basket evokes collecting, offering, even charity; the fake money exposes the constructed and fragile nature of that value. The finger refuses participation. The insult is not personal, but structural.
The work was put together hastily as Ari was leaving his Studio—only for someone to immediately ask, “So, what’s the price?” An unintended moment that perfectly confirmed the work’s critique.
